This strawberry limeade might just become your new favorite summer mocktail. It’s made of blended fresh strawberries, lime juice, mint, and just a hint of honey. Add a splash of sparkling water, and your backyard BBQ will be ready!

Who’s ready for summer!? I’m counting down the days! Nothing says sunny days like like a glass of bright, bubbly, refreshing strawberry limeade – it really sets the mood. It’s made with a homemade strawberry-mint-lime concentrate of fresh berries, fresh mint leaves, and freshly squeezed lime juice (all so fresh!). A splash of honey adds just the right touch of sweetness.
To really make it sparkle, I mix the concentrate with fizzy sparkling water, giving it that refreshing pop. And on those evenings when I’m feeling festive, I swap out the sparkling water for champagne, turning my favorite daytime drink into a chic cocktail. Whether bringing it to a potluck or enjoying it on my porch with a big ol’ Hawaiian macaroni salad on the side, this strawberry limeade never fails to enhance the summer vibe. Trust me, once you try it, you’ll want to make it a staple for those hot days!
Why You’ll Love This Strawberry Limeade Recipe
- Bright and bubbly. You can’t take a sip of this strawberry limeade without smiling. It’s flavorful and has just the right hint of bubbly. It’s perfect for summer!
- Real fruit flavor. I love that this sparkling mocktail derives all of its flavor from real fruit and fresh mint. None of that “from concentrate” silliness you might find in a store-bought version. You can really taste the difference!
- Customizable. This recipe is so flexible. Feel free to experiment with different fruits or even turn it into an adult beverage instead of a mocktail. Check out the section below titled “Recipe Variations” for inspiration.
What You’ll Need
Head to the produce section and grab your ingredients for this strawberry limeade recipe. Here’s what you’ll need. Be sure to scroll to the recipe card below for exact measurements.
- Fresh strawberries – You can use frozen strawberries instead, but thaw them completely and pat them dry.
- Fresh mint leaves – The mint adds a refreshing and cooling taste to the limeade.
- Fresh lime juice – Seriously fresh, and not the bottled lime juice stuff. Buy some limes, and squeeze them yourself. You’ll only need 4 or so.
- Honey – Agave would also work.
- Sparkling Water or Club Soda – Chilled. If you’d like to make this a cocktail, swap the sparkling water out for champagne, Prosecco, or another sparkling wine.
- Fresh Mint & Lime slices – We will be using these for garnish.
How To Make Strawberry Limeade
Here’s a quick look at how to make strawberry limeade with mint. Follow the steps below to create a drink that’s perfect for relaxing in the sunshine or jazzing up your next get-together!
- Blend. Blend the strawberries, mint leaves, lime juice, and honey until smooth.
- Make it bubbly. Transfer the mixture to a pitcher and mix in the sparkling water.
- Serve. Pour the strawberry limeade into glasses and garnish with fresh mint and lime slices.
Tips for Success
- Fresh is best. I highly encourage you to squeeze your own limes here. The stuff that comes from a bottle just won’t deliver the same quality flavor.
- Taste as you go. Strawberries vary in sweetness so taste the strawberry-mint-lime-honey mixture before you transfer it to a pitcher. Blend in more honey if needed.
- Slow and steady. When pouring the sparkling water into the pitcher with the strawberry mixture, do so slowly to prevent the pitcher from overflowing with bubbles.
- Chill it. I highly recommend putting the drink in the fridge for a couple of hours before serving. You could also pour it over ice.
Recipe Variations
Friends, feel free to get creative with this recipe! Here are some fun ways to make it your own.
- Make it strawberry lemonade. Instead of lime juice, use lemon juice. Meyer lemons would be my top pick.
- Swap out the strawberries. You can easily turn this strawberry limeade into raspberry or blueberry limeade (those are just two suggestions). Just swap the strawberries out for a different fruit of your choosing and carry on as you normally would.
- From mocktail to cocktail. This is one of my favorite mocktails but that doesn’t mean I don’t like to turn it into a little something more on occasion. Swap the sparkling water out for a 750ml bottle of champagne. Alternatively, add a shot of gin or vodka to a glass with some ice and pour the mocktail over it.
Serving Suggestions
This strawberry limeade screams summer to me. As such, I love serving it with all of my backyard BBQ/potluck faves. Enjoy it alongside my famous pineapple bbq pork kebabs or these succulent grilled chicken thighs and a serving of potluck pasta salad. It’s also a great, refreshing beverage to pack up in a cooler, along with some easy pinwheel sandwiches for a sunny picnic in the park.
Can I Make This In Advance?
You can! Blend everything aside from the sparkling water together and seal it in an airtight container. Store it in the fridge for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months. When you are ready to enjoy, allow the fruity concoction to thaw in the fridge (if applicable), transfer it to a pitcher, and stir in the sparkling water.

Hi
Can I use a mix of frozen & fresh berries for this?
Hi Jas! I haven’t tried it with frozen because when you blend frozen fruits, it thickens the drink, just like a smoothie. I bet it would still be delicious, but the texture will be thicker.
