Golden milk has been all the rage lately. Also known as turmeric latte, this caffeine-free beverage originates from ancient Ayurvedic traditions, where turmeric has long been celebrated. Traditional golden lattes feature a blend of milk and a mix of spices, most prominently turmeric, giving the beverage its distinctive golden color.
Over time, I’ve loved experimenting with this recipe to. I’ve swapped in oat milk, which adds a nice creaminess, but have also used whole milk and skim milk. Depending on my mood, I might sweeten it with a touch more honey or switch things up with maple syrup or brown sugar. The combination of spices in this latte commonly includes cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, and sometimes nutmeg and cardamom. But, don’t hesitate to tailor the spice blend to your taste—it’s all about finding what comforts and tastes best to you!
Whether you’re in the mood for a warm, comforting cup of golden milk on a cold day or a cool, refreshing glass of iced golden milk to beat the heat, my go-to recipe never disappoints.

- Milk options. I use oat milk, but you can include your favorite plant-based or dairy milk.
- Sweeten to taste. You can use more or less honey or a different sweetener, such as maple syrup or brown sugar.
- Blend your own spice mix. Mix and match and create a spice blend that works for you.
